Oh dear… I believe apologies are in order.

My idea of a ‘break’, as per people’s suggestions, is traveling, and in no way does that allow me to constantly be in front of a computer, much less blog.That matter aside, I’m back— uncertain for how long, though I do attempt to check back here every so often in between training.

You should come visit with me then, Riley. I am going to enjoy myself before I officially resume my position, to reward myself for my hard work and training. And it will be welcome to have a friend along, that’s for sure. [He smiles as he glances up at a Natu nesting on top of his purple hair.] Isn’t that right~? [It opens one eye and then closes it before making a confirming chirp.]

I trust she’ll be all right…and if worst comes to worst, I’ll just trick my way out of her wrath. My Natus know the routine.

[He moves the bird Pokemon from his palm to perch on his shoulder.] Interesting. Perhaps I should take you up on that suggestion… [He smiled, daring not to move unnecessarily lest he disturbed the perching Natu.] I’ll take my time for now to consider; it shouldn’t be new to you by now just how dedicated I am to my own matters. It gives me irrational guilt to leave work unattended, somehow. 

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned… [Riley snorts despite himself.] I’m sure they do. Just how many times have you escaped your way out of her fury? Far too many to mention, I presume.

Oh-ho-ho~. Behold! [He smiles wide and claps his hands together and in a flash, produces several Natu that surround him on his head and shoulders. This…was obviously more theatric than anything else.] I’ve found that my darlings and I can form a mental gestalt that makes us more efficient in battle and better at managing our attack strategies! Faster, more overwhelming strategy than ever before!

[Playfully, he grins and allows his Natu to hop off and wander around him, his trickery done for now.] I try to be at least~. I can’t help but have fun and be the life of the party. And thank you, I have missed everyone. I almost missed out on Karen’s birthday even! I just don’t know what I would do if I did that! [He shrugs though, giving a laugh over a thought.] Well besides get her a bouquet and hope she forgives and forgets.

[He chuckles and applauds the generous performance.] I’m glad to hear; wonderful progress. I’ve no doubt you’ll be an even more difficult challenge to any trainer that presents their selves to the Johto League. And speaking of Johto… it’s been a while since I stayed there for long; I miss everyone in the Frontier.

You’ve been doing an excellent job so far, shining star that you are. [He smiles and kneels down to let a Natu hop onto his open hand before standing up again.] Oh dear, quite a close call. Let’s not hope Karen harbors any grudges, aha…

[He smiled, shaking his head. ] Quite all right. I appreciate your honesty. [He turned away slightly, smoothing his hands down his suit.] I thought I found it once. It appears I will have to search further.

[He nods back, though rather uncertainly.] …that’s unfortunate to hear, I’m sorry. If.. there’s anything I can do to aid you, perhaps, then I would be willing to offer you a hand.

I thank you for the compliment. I wonder if you would ever allow me to charm and court you as a proper gentleman? [He pauses, obviously nervous that he had actually stated that out loud] Ah.. Celebi brought me. I came once before to learn what I must protect… Celebi took me from the crystal of the Tree of Beginning and brought me here. As a reward, I suppose. I truly do not know.

[He blinks, not sure how to answer.] I… honestly don’t know…perhaps… I am not looking for companionship at the moment, you see. My apologies, but it is not my wish to give you false hope, Sir Aaron. [Nods curtly,] I’ve heard Celebi works mysteries. It is my hope that you find that which you must truly protect. [He smiles gently, almost apologetically for turning him down.]

[He chuckled a self-depreciating laugh, looking up at Riley.] I was actually thinking I should be ashamed for trying to charm you so soon, but yes the adjustment is also proving difficult. I.. died in Rota, in a sense. It is refreshing to be alive again.

[He shook his head slightly] You are charming even without consciously making an effort. [Riley’s lips tugged into a small frown.] Ah, I’m sorry to hear that… if you don’t mind me asking, how did you come to this time?

I see… did you find anything regarding your lineage, I wonder? [He sighed, pushing his hair back and closing his eyes. What had gotten into him? Why had he been trying to charm Riley? Only a few hours back in the modern day, and he was already trying to woo people. He was pathetic… and accustomed to his own time period, where wooing was common. ] From what I can sense you have great control over Aura. It is refreshing to see others carried on the trait.

Not much records of my family were unearthed, but as far as I know, there were no mentions of Rota, nor Kanto. [He notices the other’s discomfort and offers a reassuring smile] You… don’t have to feel guilty, Sir Aaron. It’s fine, I understand that it’s quite hard to adjust. And I’m still under training to understand it completely. Thank you, nonetheless, the praise is flattering.
